Geothermal Energy Could Supply Canadians Power for a Million Years

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

Did you know that Canada has enough geothermal energy to power Canada’s energy needs one million times over? Or how about that as few as 100 geothermal projects could fuel Canada’s needs? A Toronto Star article, based on information in a recent Geological Survey of Canada report, discusses this and what we can do about it, namely talk about it more and bring it to the forefront of concerned citizens’ minds.

Last August, isCleaner TV interviewed some key Canadian players on the hurdles and upsides of the geothermal energy potential in this abundant nation. We have also posted numerous articles on Nevada Geothermal Power (NGP), a Vancouver-based company developing several geothermal projects south of the border. They are also featured in the August interviews.

So, what do you think? Should Canada invest in more projects to heighten this type of renewable energy? We have the technological know-how, it’s available 24/7, and there’s an almost endless supply!
