REG files for $100M IPO:
Tuesday, July 19th, 2011In Iowa, Renewable Energy Group filed for a $100 million IPO, becoming the 9th elite integrated biorefining company to file an S-1 in the past 18 months. The REG filing follows the successful IPOs by Codexis, Amyris, Gevo, Solazyme, and KiOR. Ceres, Myriant and PetroAlgae have not yet completed theirs.
A successful IPO would cap a remarkable comeback for biodiesel from the depths of “The Troubles” in 2008-09. It’s a second time through for REG: the company filed for a $150 million IPO in 2007, but withdrew the registration in early 2008 when markets soured.
